Every cloud needs attention. This also applies to my Nextcloud AIO that runs at DigitalOcean. You don't have to keep an eye on this yourself. If there is a new version, Nextcloud will automatically send you a push notification. It is recommended to backup your data first before starting the update process.
- Visit your AIO URL on port 8443. Find out how to start the update process here. In my case, stop on the container.
- SHH to your Droplet with and run the command sudo docker stop nextcloud-aio-apache.
- Reload your AIO URL to load the login form. Enter your password here
- On the overview page you can see the status of the containers. To update, all zontainers must be stopped. To do this, click on the stop containers button
- Once all containers have stopped, you can start the update by clicking the update mastercontainer button.
- When your update is ready, you can click on the reload page button to load the overview page
- The containers are now ready to be updated. Click start and update containers to start this process. If you have not yet made a backup, you will be reminded again in this step
- Updating the containers may take a while. If you are curious about what the containers are doing, you can view the log. You will see this when you click on the links behind the container name.
- Once all containers are running, you can use Nextcloud as normal again
